WARNING: Graphic and disturbing photos between 38:40 and 40:45.
U.S. Army Ranger John Needham, who was awarded two purple hearts and three medals for heroism, wrote to military authorities in 2007 reporting war crimes that he witnessed being committed by his own command and fellow soldiers in Al Doura, Iraq. His charges were supported by atrocity photos which, in the public interest, are now released in this video. John paid a terrible price for his opposition to these acts. His story is tragic.

I don’t believe in President Obama any longer.  He has kept only one of his campaign promises – troops in Afghanistan, which I did not support.  He says that will be removing some troops from Iraq, but how about the mercenaries, oops I meant to say contractors?  I oppose the extra-judicial drone bombing of Americans and other human beings overseas.   Guantanamo is still open despite his promise to close it, his support of the Patriot Act, his deportation of over 400,000 brown people from the US, his role in the overthrow of the sovereign African state of Libya, etcetera, etcetera.

Sorry,  I wish it were different.   Like so many others, I was hoping for change we could believe in.  In my opinion, his perpetuation of militarism is overboard and at this point, his rhetoric seems hypocritically inhumane.  I care about the all the people on the planet, not only Americans and definitely not the corporations.

Peace in our times,
Gerard
